Seeking sitter identity for George Romney portrait

One of our UBP members is seeking advice on the possible identity of the sitter in this three quarter length life size portrait. The portrait, measuring 118 x 92 cms, was previously attributed to Tilly Kettle in a 1960s Christies sale. When it was acquired in Genoa by the current owner it was described as ‘English School’, but has since been authenticated by the Romney Society as having been painted by George Romney, probably between 1773-1775. If you have any information or advice on the identity of the sitter please leave a message in the comments box below or email [email protected]
